Rehearsal should feel like a show, not practice between cardboard boxes. Our Amsterdam Noord live room gives you volume, PA and backline so the set list works before you hit the recording booths.
Rehearsal room at Claviforge suits bands, duos and ensembles who want to play together with real monitors and a drum kit already on stage. The room is about 42 m² inside a 3-room studio building operating since 2019.
We do not rent empty cellars: Fleur Bakker or a colleague stays on hand for basic PA balance and safe levels. Want demos afterwards? Book vocal and instrument recording in the same calendar.
How it works
Book
Pick hourly €48 or full day €285 via contact. Tell us band size, genre and whether you need the kit.
Check in
At Danzigerkade 78 you sign house rules, set up backline and plug in. Directions: From Amsterdam Centraal, take metro line 52 (North/South) towards Noord and get off at Noorderpark. Walk about 8 minutes west along Danzigerkade; the studio is at number 78 on the waterfront. By bike from Centraal it is roughly 15 minutes via the IJ Tunnel.
Play
You set tempo and breaks; we watch overall volume and answer PA questions.
Wrap
Gear back on racks, quick tidy, checkout. No recording files unless you booked recording separately.
Who uses the room
Rock, indie, funk, jazz combos and cover bands testing set length before a club date. Singer-songwriters with a band who need dynamics without annoying neighbours—the room is built for sound, not office decibel limits.
Electronic solo acts without live instruments are fine if you need monitors, not a full festival PA. Up to 6 people including tech; larger crews by arrangement.
What is in the room
Basic drum kit, bass amp, guitar amps and PA with speakers on stands. Vocal mics are limited from our locker of 18 pieces—bring your favourite dynamic if you rely on it.
No grand piano by default; keyboards go through DI. Lighting rigs and haze are not part of rehearsal hire. See services for recording gear in the control room.
Volume and safety
Earplugs or in-ears for anyone next to the kit. Overall level stays within safe margins; if the mixer clips we step in. No glass in the room; shoes off on the stage rug where possible.
From age 16 with adult supervision. Emergency routes explained at start. Gear damage from misuse is charged per terms and conditions.
Scheduling
Rehearsals run within Tuesday–Friday 10:00–20:00, Saturday 11:00–18:00. Closed Sunday and Monday.. Day rate €285 covers an eight-hour block; shorter visits bill hourly at €48. We do not store gear overnight—take everything when you leave.
Free moves up to 7 days ahead. Late cancel or no-show triggers the 30% deposit rules in our terms. Questions answered within 2 business days via [email protected].
We confirm bookings in writing with start and end times; if someone arrives late, playing time shrinks—the price does not automatically extend.
The lounge beside the live room is for breaks, not extra practice without a booking.
Recording is separate
Rehearsal is not a multitrack session. For demos or live takes, book vocal and instrument recording with engineer and control room. Handheld recorders for personal use are OK if they do not disturb others.
Podcast or interview? Use podcast recording, not the live room during a band slot—book separate time.
Pricing and VAT
Hourly €48 including 21% VAT for access, backline and basic PA support. Day €285 for eight consecutive hours—useful for album prep or dress rehearsal.

Bring your own
Guitars, bass, pedals, sticks, ear protection, set list and preferred cymbals if you like. Extension cables and tape are limited—pack your kit bag.

Testing new songs? Note shaky tempos and transitions during rehearsal; that saves studio time when you later book vocal and instrument recording.

Is the drum kit complete?
Basic kit is set; bring your snare or cymbals if you prefer. Double kick pedal on request when available.
Can we play loud?
Yes, within safe levels. We are not a silent practice cupboard—no unbooked parties though.
Can I hire the room without staff?
No—at least one team member supervises gear and volume.
Is recording included?
No. Book recording separately for multitrack.
How far ahead to book?
Evenings fill quickly; use contact. Cancel free up to 7 days ahead.
